MICHELLE IDOWU, MOREWAOLUWA AJAYI, TAZEEMA HALIRU, ONEHIZENA OKODOGBE and ONAEDO OBASI.

"We are a group of young, vibrant girls consisting of five from the prestigious Lagoon School in Lekki, Lagos. Our primary goal is to improve the agricultural industry to the next level of technology by solving the challenges faced by our farmers, such as pests and weeds, and generating more revenue for the farmers due to high crop yields.
With the help of our encouraging coach, Olamiju Abimbola, we discovered that Nigerian farmers are facing low productivity of crops due to soil malnutrition, pests, and weed devastation, which have negative effects on the total yield of their plantations. As a result of the above challenges confronting farmers, the team brainstormed and developed an innovation called R.A.C.E. (Robotic Agricultural Control Edition).
R.A.C.E. is a robot that makes farm operations easier. It was built to help farmers water their land at all seasons, spray pesticides, and also apply fertilizers to the soil to improve crop yield, which results in high revenue."

During the development of the project, we faced and overcame many challenges that helped us think outside the box and widen our horizons. We are members of STEM Club in the same boarding school (City of Knowledge Academy), where we have developed different skills and specializations in diverse areas such as agriculture, nutrition, health, engineering and technology. We came together to solve a global challenge."

Team Clean technology - Second Runner Up

Dansol High School, Ikeja, Lagos.
Category: Energy & Environment
TAIWO MOLOLUWA, IDOKOKO JEREMY, OGUNBADEJO TOFARATI, FANEN-ACHO NEO and ERHABOR DANIEL.

"We are creating an innovation that would change the way we manage waste products in the 21st Century. We spoke to mechanical engineers, chemists and contractors to properly evaluate our idea. This was one of the many steps we took to figure out what we need to do to make our idea come to life. There were several times where we had to completely change our direction because of factors like pricing or feasibility but eventually we were able to finalize our product without any issues.
We are creating bricks out of plastic waste and sand. Not only are our bricks stronger than cement and clay bricks but they are also cheaper and easier to make, This innovation not only provides a solution to plastic pollution but it provides a cheaper and more efficient way of creating structures. Team Chloros

Greensprings School Lekki.
Category: Energy & Environment
CHIZOBA OKOLI, TANITOLUWA OGUNDELE and OLUWASENI HUNPONU-WUSU

"Three innovative Year 12 students and enthusiasts in environmental activism created Chloros, a product made to initiate the reduction of disposable-plastic waste every year. Chloros provides a feasible method to mitigate the effects of single-use, non-biodegradable plastic on our planet. We present the alternative. A simple yet ingenious method of providing our world with the much-needed time to implement a solution to the ever-growing, ever-worrying, and ever-prevalent issues that plastic pollution causes: producing biodegradable and sustainable kitchenware meticulously made from locally sourced leaves. Although we understand the importance of cheap and disposable materials, for example, with businesses involved in food and packaging, we also understand the need for change.
While working together, we progressed and improved together. Through the trials and tribulations of failed test products and conflicting ideas, we have grown to understand the importance of trust and the necessity of acknowledging each other’s points of view. With these abilities in hand, we have been able to produce Chloros, the green plastic alternative that will bring our world into a new era of disposable packaging. "

"Team Dominari is a team that was formed for the purpose of good in our world. We looked into most of the world's environmentally degrading problems and what piqued our interest the most: the excess amount of carbon dioxide in ocean water.
MUTATIO was the machine that was thought up which is an innovation that uses hydraulic softening through the help of a vacuum which transfers the newly formed calcium carbonate into a converter that synthesizes the calcium carbonate with the help of synthesis gas (syngas). This gas then creates usable and helpful chemicals or fuels which can be used in labs, industries and more. "

CHIDERA NNANNA, CHIDERA ADELE, GOLD TOLAFARI, NONYE AMAH and NWEKE NNEOMA.

" Living in a country where abnormal occurrences like air pollution and heat waves have been deemed unconventionally normal, sparked a living vision and mission to revert this problem in us. We, Team Originals, have devised a plan to curb the effects of greenhouse gas emissions on our planet; the Revolt.
Getting to where we are currently wasn’t a five-finger exercise, we encountered problems; problems that would have easily derailed us as a team but instead built us. As a group, we had disagreements, breaking points and issues which were out of our control but we fought through this and brought about the idea of the Revolt; a machine which separates the greenhouse gases into its gaseous constituents and transports the separated gases to its various useful points. We believe abandoning a very good source of energy due to its by-products is not the best idea as there’s a better solution."

" Energy crisis and waste management are two pressing issues that have been affecting the world for many years. The increasing demand for energy has put a strain on the available energy sources. On the other hand, the growing human population and industrialization have resulted in a massive amount of waste being generated every day. This waste not only poses a threat to the environment but also takes up valuable space.
Team Spark decided to step forward and solve this problem of energy crisis by designing an innovative Waste to Energy Generator. The generator is designed to use the massive amount of waste that is generated daily, converting it into a useful by-product and getting rid of the waste in an eco-friendly manner. We believe that utilizing the waste as an energy source will significantly contribute to resolving the energy crisis. "
